This active workshop focuses on English phonics and is very popular with students. We use physical materials and lots of language output while having fun. Classes are small and instruction is tailored to individual needs.
This 6-week course includes full-length one-on-one lessons to help students prepare short speeches for their final presentations. The course concludes with a mini speech presentation. Participation in the mini speech recital is optional.

Course Details
This engaging course spans six weeks, with the first five weeks dedicated to lessons in small classes of up to four students on your chosen weekday. For instance, if you select Tuesday, you will attend five classes on Tuesdays. You can choose to attend on either Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Saturday.
In the sixth week, there will be individual lessons where you can create your own schedule. At the end of the course, a speech recital will be held, featuring students from all classes together.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I’m nervous about writing a speech in English.
A. Please don’t be nervous about this. You will be given examples, and you will be given plenty of guidance on what to write. Additionally, Chris will make corrections to the English that’s written. However, it should be said, not too much time will be spent on explaining grammar, because this course is mainly about speaking skills.
Q. I’m nervous about saying my speech at the Speech Recital. Do I have to do participate?
A. We believe it can be helpful for learning to set a goal, such as a performance. However, it’s very important for Chris that the learning experience feel safe and fun for all students. For this reason, participation in the speech recital is optional.
Q. Is this only for junior high school students?
A. The contents of this course are meant to improve upon the basic phonics taught in Unit 1 of public junior high school 1st grade English classes. Younger students in 5th and 6th grade would like to join this course, in preparation for junior high school. Older students should contact kuri eigo to discuss details.
Q. Can you explain the days of the week once more?
A. The course will be offered on different days of the week, to accommodate various student schedules.
We kindly ask that you choose one day in advance (e.g., Tuesday) and attend only on that day, each week.
It’s important to note that students cannot switch days from week to week, such as attending on Tuesday one week and then Wednesday the next week. This helps us maintain small class sizes, which is essential for effective learning.
Regardless of the day you choose, all classes will be held from 16:30 to 18:00.
Q. Does the price include tax? Is tax extra?
A. Since kuri eigo is a new company, we are currently exempt from consumption tax. So, the price is exactly 20,000円.
